"2010 will be a difficult and important year for Lithuania. It will be a year of national economic development and recovery as well as a year of consolidating our foreign policy priorities," President Dalia Grybauskaitė said at a meeting with foreign ambassadors residing in Lithuania.
Speaking about the key foreign policy objectives, the President underlined that Lithuania would continue contributing actively to solving urgent EU issues and to developing a new NATO strategic concept.
The President pointed out that Lithuania was also prepared to cooperate earnestly in implementing the EU's Eastern Partnership policy.
Dalia Grybauskaitė thanked foreign ambassadors for their contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Lithuania and the countries they represented - which was especially important for Lithuania as it celebrated the twentieth anniversary of independence this year.
