New EU president coming to Vilnius

The newly selected President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, will be visiting Vilnius in December, according to the Baltic News Service.
BNS reported that an official in the Lithuanian prime minister's office confirmed that Van Rompuy is scheduled to meet PM Andrius Kubilius on December 9.
Von Rompuy will also be paying goodwill visits to Riga and Tallinn as part of the same trip.
The Belgian prime minister was chosen to be the first full-time President of the European Council on November 19, but it is expected he will only take up the position at the start of next year.Alfa English:
